    Truthfully no you don’t “need” a data plan to setup and use the web and MMS, and if you dont plan on doing alot of web browsing, txting, and Picture messaging, I would recommend getting the cheapest data plan, or none at all, however if you plan on using alot of data, then I absolutely recommend a unlimited data plan, as data fees are outrageously high these days.

    It depends, unfortunately with a unlocked phone such as the blackjack II, if it isn’t being used on the at&t network the built in chat wont work. Now here is were providers get you, you would think a data plan is needed to use built in clients, this is not true, as built in chat clients use text messages instead of data.

    so i just got internet. before, i would press the internet button by the caps/shift key and T Zones would come up. this was set up in the ‘proxy’ settings. now how do i setup T Zones when i have internet?

    about the T-Mobile G1 Data Plan, I suggest you call customer service.

    I do not know, but following my instructions in this video you will have internet access, however if you must have tzones, I would call tmobile, they will give you the setting. I dont use tzones so I wouldn’t know.
