MP Mangala Samaraweera told to end political gambling Ministers have emphasised that Parliamentarian Mangala Samaraweera who did not extend any support to routing terrorism should stop political gambling. The Ministers made this reference responding to a statement made by Mr. Samaraweera to the media yesterday. Minister Anura Priyadharshaya Yapa opined that the UNP had given various statements on the displaced who had taken shelter in welfare camps. Mangala Samaraweera too had made a statement in this regard. The Government had continuously stated that they will be resettled although it needs some time. Time is needed to remove landmines and develop the area. It has been done in certain areas where the people have been resettled. He said Mangala Samaraweera is losing credibility for making such comments. Joining in the Thulawa programme telecast by ITN, Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said they made an alliance at a time when Prabhakaran was handed over parts of the country and attempts were being made to hand over the rest as well. Local resources and assets were being sold. Their alliance was formed to uplift the country. But today, this alliance is meant to divide the unified country. The Minister added that Mangala Samaraweera was attempting to form an alliance of hatred.
