“OH MY GOSH!!!”

That HU match was epic. Dwan saved half a million at least.
What the hell was Ivey doin with A2 offsuit preflop? That can’t be a standard play with that hand, over-reraising from the SB. Especially against Durrrr who will very rarely fold preflop in that spot. And the stacks are super deep which hurts the value of the 3 OOP. Ivey’s the best, but he put himself in a horrible spot that hand.

Tom Dwan told he never folds to a threebet, this might be discussible. But in a threehanded game to call a threebet in a deep stacked game and with a hand with high flop potential, which he had, is definetely no mistake. I knew he wouldnt muck this hand and thouht he would come over the top because ivey could hold any two and the ace deuce off suit was the best example.
Of course the ace is often the best hand prefolg in a three handed game, but in this situation it was a coinflip.
And the call on the flop is pretty standard, too. Listen to Robert Williamson who says that hes not only calling to hit a four, but for representing a pair or a clubdraw and to watch iveys reaction on the turn.
And I think even an aggressive player like Ivey would have shut down on the turn if not the 4 or an ace hits and dwan could have taken the pot down. This is pure skill and standard play. Of course the 4 was the absolutely gin-card, but your opponent has to have a hand or a huge draw, too, if you want to get paid off. Dwan might be lucky in some situations but they play sometimes for a few days and you only see the biggest hands summarised in an hour for television.
Its mathematically impossible to be always lucky if you play thousands of hands a month. For his agressive style big swings are unavoidable and he lost huge in 2009, but watch now he is up a few million the first two month of 2010.
Watch the huge laydown he did for example trip tens at the party poker premier league, or espeacially in the aussie millions heads up between tom and patrik. This is really tough play and i guess 99% of the grudgers here would have gone broke on every hand they played
And i didnt mention all the huge bluffs, he came through most of the times, because the stories he told were plausible.
And the comment to barry greenstein: Greenstein sucked out on dwan very hard because he couldt stand that dwan always outplays him when barry has the best hand and gets paid of when he has it. I guess it was a j9 suited in a four betted pot and he only had a bare top pair and no redraw.
And when he has won he didnt felt ashame and gave durrrr a bad comment also. I never saw Dwan being impolite and always behaves like a very nice guy. But he got verything and more back from the bear in a coinflip where barry didnt want a deal.
. And have you ever seen Dwan not getting paid off when he hit a huge hand?
This was pure karma
@bobbybij So right!!
95% luck my ass…
I believe he has millions of reasons to argue that…
Dwan = 95% luck, 5% skill
your retarded and broke
@BigSAK88 ummmmm….DURRRR easily u knit!
cringe at the commentary ouch
no that’s not ironic you idiot
man they both really cummed ther pants wen that 4 came they probbly tossed each other off at the same time faghot commentaors
I agree hes better than any of us talking but its okay to have an opinion…. let me ask you this, If you had a family to feed and needed a conisistent breadwinner in the long run, would you want to rely on durrr or someone like say barry greenstein?
@BigSAK88 LOL. He lost 4 million last year, that’s because he lost about 5 million to isdur or whatever. If you look at the breakdowns, he was still up in NL. He lost mostly in PLO. You have to mix your range really well in med and high stake games, especially when you are that deep over t 250bb in this case($1000/$2000). Even in $1/$2 NL on stars or FT, you have to mix your game well to be a winning player. $1/$2 live players and micro online player really shouldn’t judge their games.

Not that it changes anything but phil couldve lost to 2 6 also, he was certain he had the best hand but it cost him dearly, LOL. Phils the better player, durrr had more luck
this is a load of bull. theres a considerable number of pots i see here on youtube that tom dwan wins on sheer luck
ivey didnt make a mistake, he made the right plays. the only hand that could be him was the one dwan was holding and the chances of that are insignificant
How the fuck is he lucky, did you watch this season, he lost a 500K + pot against antonius holding AA v KK all in pre, and fought back IMO he deserved that cooler for his determination he could of walked away but he didn’t. Dwan is an amazing player anyway end of.
I love how the announcers thought Antonius was wincing because of the pot, when he was actually just trying to stay awake.
