@MyFutureExWifeIs1 I think maybe Mercier only 3bet preflop. If he had aces or kings he surely would’ve raised more than that preflop.

  2. ryan1970usa says:

phil is sooooooo good he really is the best. that was such a great call.

  3. ryan1970usa says:

did you guys notice daniel won 400k + just a hand ago but it showed 397,200 I think they dont show all hands.

@alexk307 – What are you talking about? He didn’t run it twice with Hellmuth in the first episode of this season. Barry Greenstien is another player that never runs it twice. Is he a prick? And Antonio is usually a “run it once” type of player. Some players just don’t do it. It’s their choice.

  5. foramuricy says:

That wasnt a big loss of his bankroll at all. He has over 4 MILLION DOLLARS just playing live.

u got realize that they dont invite to HSP some freeroll players with bankroll issues. The name HIGH STAKES is not by accident. So dont feel sorry for Jason, im sure he is a really happy millionaire. He is a shark at tournaments.

  6. Tindel10 says:

Wow….Laak is good. Anyone who says he sucks is just insane.

  7. tomasic0 says:

    6 cards? why

  8. vlkisef says:

omg,Laak and Antonio, why do they call this people to this show, they are so borring its ridiculous

  9. MyFutureExWifeIs1 says:

great call, by ivey. it was just so believable mercier had aces or kings there: he’s hardly played a hand, he 3 bets preflop then 3 bets all in on a low card 2 3 7 flop, no draws. that’s just an almost air tight convincing story and somehow ivey managed to crack it. it must be his instincts because on a purely rational level, based on the play, mercier’s story is virtually flawless. although, maybe mercier’s 3 bet preflop was a transparent squeeze play to ivey and ivey stuck to that preflop read

im not surprised gus didn’t stay w/ his rebuy w/ the amount of money he’s losing online on full tilt and the fact that he wasn’t won anything in like 4 years. he is just so bad, losing so much money. good thing full tilt sponsors him, which gives him a regular salary; if not for that he’d be completely broke.

    phil ivey…WOW

  12. ozabobododo says:

I like Jason’s play in that spot , i just don’t like it against Ivey. Ivey knows that everyone considers him the best in the world and it would have almost been a blow to his ego to get bluffed by the up and comer. He wasn’t getting the right price to call but what’s 100k to him. Or he could’ve picked up something on Jason, he did say all-in rather meekly but that can also mean strength. That play works on anyone else at the table except maybe Durr. The kid has heart though.

  13. ozabobododo says:

I like Gus but he shouldn’t be bitching and cursing after losing that pot to Daniel. Daniel just got back some of the money Gus took from him when he hit a one outer to make quad 5′s. Daniel lost more than Gus and handled it much more professionally. Like Ivey always says, the hand played itself. Gus didn’t do anything wrong except get unlucky. The poker gods owed Daniel, especially against Gus.

  14. luckyb369 says:

i love phil laak, fucking awesome lol

  15. donchiller666 says:

mistake trying to bluff ivey… but good play nonetheless

  16. Cheshario says:

“WELCOME TO THE IVEY WORLD JASON!”

  17. endlives says:

jason thought he could push around ivey..of course ivey doesnt want to run it twice..he made a hard call, and he wants his hard earned money :)

  18. alexk307 says:

What a prick ivey is. Why wouldn’t he let him run it twice? Because he’s a prick that’s why

  19. robertbertstar says:

    nice shoes Gus :)

  20. robertbertstar says:

Thats not an inside straight draw Gabe.

  21. joeynovak2 says:

    I love phil’s story telling 0:40

none of these high stakes poker videos buffer like other videos on youtube. These ones take 20 seconds to load up 10 seconds of video. Any help?

  23. nofo04 says:

That said, I don’t mean to suggest that Ivey is anything short of a phenomenal player.

    I think Jason made a great play…

Except for the fact that it’s Phil Ivey. I think Phil tends to make some loose calls because he’s so rich that calling an extra 100 grand or so doesn’t mean much to him.

Plus he’s probably used to young players trying to bluff him a lot. Even if a bluff was a fairly low probability (30% chance or so) he was getting decent odds to call.
