Posted by admin
- The Poker’s Best Bits: – Day 1c of 2008 WSOP Main Event brought us one of the all-timers of poker: Geller raised to 900 holding KK being called by Robert Romanello with pocket jacks and Mike Matusow with pocket nines. Flop brought set for both Geller and Romanello missing Matusow. Both guys checked slow-playing their sets and being afraid of straight all guys checked the turn too, but with another ten on the river, possible straight was no longer a threat and after Matusow’s third check …

Nice one! Congrats for the good lay down! I would never have done that.
over long run its a bad movie, dis time it came out well, 70%of the time it wouldnt be
Oh no. Really?
Wow. I must have missed that …
the play of the tournament
REALLY OMG HELLO KENNY^! HOW R U?
Romanello is no amateur, he’s a hardened pro!
its not very often you hear a world class pro telling an amateur that that was one of the best laydowns theyd ever seen. in a way, thats better than winning a championship.
only AA AT KK could beat him, GREAT FOLD… probabily one of the best fold ever…
A 10 dosent beat him… is the 3 of a kind that counts only aces or kings or 10′s
Ace ten would not have beat him.. that would be tens full of aces when he had jacks full.. pocket tens would have taken him down.. he had the third best hand possible in that situation.. behind aces kings and tens.. it was a great lay down.. deller did make a huge raise pre flop and was acting very strong
A10 would lose to JJ only AA and KK
more than 70%. But what seperates the good players from the greats is getting away from the few times calling would bust you.
mike sadey´d the truth
he has signs
10 10 also would beat JJ
what teachers… I made a mistake when I was writing…
Wow how is that even possible. That is the greatest lay down in history.
haha well most ppl are pretty terrible at this game and don’t understand it at all. The one’s critiquing me the most are probably the same fools who call raises preflop w/ like J-6 suited, take it all the way to the river b/c they flopped a J, and justify it b/c “it was suited!” haha
I’m curious why this has so many down thumbs…it’s pretty much spot on….Funny how the only person who actually knows what he is talking about is getting shit
Anyone who says folding Jacks full isn’t a big lay down is an idiot. As Mike even said, “I could have never folded that hand”
The chances of those cards coming as they did were slim as hell. Putting him on pocket kings, even with the preflop raise, when an A and a K are on the board is simply phenomenal. The funny thing is I know nearly everyone commenting on this video would NEVER EVER lay this down.
1:22 – I loved how the Planters Good Instinct logo appeared right on top of Romanello’s head … like a halo from the poker heavens. I was ROFLMAO! Was anyone else amused about that?
Poker really aint that hard to play just takes a feel for the game that some people don’t have. I am still working on mine and I play well and have sat with the best in the world Demidov Chan Phillps Hellmuth. The key to being a good player and great player is laying downt the hands you know you should. i still do it everything says you are beat in your gut and head but you still want to know so you call. Sometimes I back myself into corners just to see and I am right prob 90% of the time.
Te funny thing is it really aint that big a lay down. There was a big raise before the flop and they both had big hands. They both checked the flop and tried to trap each other. If a guy plays that hand that slow it is cause he has a big hand or has QQ and can’t bet the flop. IT was a good laydown. Not a great laydown. I have laid down AA and KK over sets many times. Those are the hard hands to put ppl on. those are the ones that will save your money and make you a good player
i fuckin love mikes reaction WOW!
I love those people
